I grew up in a little beach house by the sea in Geraldton, Western Australia. As a child I would sit with my feet in the water and imagine I was ESP-ing the dolphins, certain they would come, certain we would swim off together into something luminous and free.
The sea never left me. It became the rhythm I return to. The place where my senses wake up and my thoughts go quiet.
These scarves began there, in that feeling. Painted abstractions of the ocean, printed onto soft flowing fabric. Not to describe the sea but to carry something of its quality. That particular ease. That widening.
Worn, they move the way water moves.
