Seashell SoulCircles

Seashells remind us that every passing life leaves something beautiful behind.

These works began on the beach in front of my studio in Geraldton. I'd walk the shore and forage, shells worn smooth by the sea, shaped by time and tide into something quietly perfect. I wanted them in the work. Not as decoration but as presence. A way of literally embodying the sea within the circle.

Each painting evolves intuitively. No plan. No predetermined outcome. Just ink, oil, salt water and the willingness to follow what wants to come through. Sometimes what appears within the circle is surprising, colours, shapes, symbols that arrive on their own and seem to know something I don't.

The seashells hold that same quality. Each one a small archive of the ocean. A life lived, a form left behind. Beautiful and complete.

Landscapes of the soul, foraged from the shore.
